Radio Pirata was assembled by talented bass player, composer, arranger, and producer Rucco Gandía, who was joined by drummer Nitayno Arayoán González, percussionist Robert "Bobby" Trinidad, and guitarist Roberto Torres. The Puerto Rican band emerged in the mid-'90s as Rucco Gandía y Radio Pirata and soon achieved awards for Best Local Record and Best Rock Band. After climbing music charts with their first smash called "El Loco," Fonovisa signed them up, issuing Radio Pirata in 1997. The album featured the hit singles "No Me Dejes Asi" and "Historia Real." Todavia followed in 1998.
